Each reward is referred to as a “Prize” from this point on. Each verified Prize recipient is referred to as a “Winner” in the following text.
During the Contest Period, seven (7) Prizes are up for grabs. Each Entry Period offers the chance to win one (1) Prize, which consists of the following:
- One (1) $1,000 Canadian Tire gift card, with an estimated retail value (“ARV”) of $1,000 Canadian ($1,000 CAD).
(ii) The prizes have an ARV of 7,000 Canadian dollars (CAD 7,000).
(b) If there is a financial discrepancy between the stated ARV and actual Prize value, winners are not entitled to receive it.
(c) Each Prize will be awarded when the Winner has been successfully contacted, informed of their Prize, and complied with all applicable criteria, which will take place within fifteen (15) business days.
(d) Except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, the Prize must be accepted by the Winner in the form it is granted; it may not be modified, exchanged, assigned, replaced, or redeemed for cash. A Prize has no financial value and will be forfeited if any of it is not used. In the unlikely event that a Reward (or any portion thereof) cannot be awarded for any reason, the Sponsor maintains the right, in its sole discretion, to replace a prize of equal or better value.
(e) The Sponsor disclaims all responsibility for misplaced, damaged, or lost prizes.
Prize winners will be chosen in the following manner:
(a) Each draw will be held at 10:00 a.m. ET in Toronto, Ontario, on the first Friday of the month following the conclusion of the applicable Entry Period, and one (1) winner will be chosen at random from among all eligible Entries submitted during the applicable Entry Period (using random.org, which will generate a random number that will be compared to a list of the eligible entrants). The number of eligible Entries the Sponsor receives for each Entry Period determines the likelihood that an entry will be chosen as a possible winner.
Each chosen participant must do the following things before being considered the Winner:
- a) appropriately respond to a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question that will be asked over the phone or by email, without the aid of any sort, whether mechanical or otherwise; (ii) adhere to the contest rules; and (iii) sign and submit the confirmation and release form.
- b) On the specific draw day, no later than 12:30 p.m. ET, each chosen participant will be contacted by phone or email. Within ten (10) business days after the draw date, the Sponsor will make a minimum of three (3) efforts to get in touch with the chosen participant by phone or email. Each selected participant must respond to the notice within five (5) business days of being contacted and must supply all necessary information by these Contest Rules to the email address indicated in the communication. In the sole discretion of the Sponsor, another entrant may be chosen if the selected entry does not reply to the Contest Rules and is thus disqualified and is not eligible to win the Prize.
- c) Sponsor verification is required for all potential winners, and Sponsor’s decisions are final. Even though the contest should state otherwise, an entry is not a prize winner until and until the entry’s eligibility, the potentially winning entry has been verified, and the entry has been notified that the verification is complete.
